The release where you tell a scan what you want, and a tag in your hand becomes yours.

This follows 0.14.8, the version the App Store has installed since 14 September 2026.

#What It Does

#Tell a scan what to capture

Under the camera in Add Items there is now an Only capture… box. Type or say what you want — "only office furniture" — or what to leave out — "don't capture the CDs" — and the scan honours it before it spends anything on the rest.

  • It shows its working: "40 found, 12 match" rather than just a count, so a scan that skipped things reads as deliberate.
  • It lists what it skipped and why, and any of it comes back with one tap, as though the scan had kept it all along.
  • A photo of a single thing says so, instead of reporting that your instruction failed.

#Know what a scan costs before you take it

Wherever a photo scan starts — Add Items, chat, the Add Item menu, and the web Scan and Inventory pages — a line tells you what a scan like it has cost you, from your own recent scans, split into reading the photo and each item it adds. Your billing history now names each kind of scan.

Scans also cost what they should: a scan that retries is the same scan, charged once; a cupboard of the same product is looked up once, not once per item; and a pint and a gallon of the same milk get their own price and shelf life. Uploading an Office file, spreadsheet or text note costs a few credits for its AI title and summary, once — and never when you are out of credits.

#Make a tag yours

  • Identiv tags: open Scan → AR and point at the tag. Once the phone hears it, it tells you what the tag is and offers to make it yours in one tap. Pointing at the tag's printed label works too.
  • Minew tags: scan the QR code on a new tag and tap Set up. The phone programs the tag over Bluetooth, checks it is broadcasting, and the tag is yours. The tag's card tells you what it is doing at every step, and says why if it cannot reach the tag.
  • A tag you already set up says so when you scan it again, and shows you the old and new settings before changing anything. Tap Info on it to go straight to the page it points to.

Bluetooth now tunes itself. The Settings → Bluetooth page is gone; your tags are heard on every screen while you are signed in, and the arcs in the header show what the radio is doing.

#A Radar that shows you around

  • The Zone guide is on by default. As you walk into a Zone it tells you about it, with a red light beside Listen that blinks while it talks. Tap Listen to turn it off, or use Zone guide on the Radar in Voice Settings.
  • Show me around Radar — your first exhibit card comes with a six-bubble tour of its buttons. Say "show me around Radar again" in chat to see it again.
  • New Zones slide in from the side you walked, exhibits bounce in, and the order keeps updating while you stand still.
  • The Radar shows the things at an exhibit — items and documents — never the beacon itself.
  • AI, View, Listen and Info on a card each open exactly that thing.
  • A card you dismiss stays dismissed for the rest of your visit.

#Backups you can trust

  • Your backup is one card: when it was made, what is in it, how big it is. Exporting again replaces it.
  • Backups and restores complete at any size, and a stalled one tells you within minutes.
  • You get a notification when a backup is ready; tap it to open the archive.
  • You can restore from the web as well: Settings → Your Data.
  • Deleting your account offers to save a copy of your data first — optional.

#Chat

  • Claude Opus 5.5 replaces Claude Opus 5 as the Premium Claude model, at fewer credits per answer.
  • Long answers can run for up to nine minutes, and one interrupted by a dropped connection is filled in from your history.
  • "File everything in Home into the right folders" is one short step, however many items.
  • Ask what is in a folder and the items come back tappable.
  • "How warm is it in here?" works while you stand in a Zone.
  • Q&A search on the phone covers every conversation you have ever saved, and says how complete the answer is.

#Your things, organised

  • Sort by Modified to find what you just changed — folders sort too, and show the date they are sorted by.
  • Items you move leave the list at once, and deleting items in a folder updates its card straight away.
  • "Expires today" means today where you are, on the phone and the web alike.
  • Big document folders open straight away and load more as you scroll.

#Groups

Make a member an admin by tapping the shield on their row, or ask the assistant — "make Jane an admin of Family". A group always keeps at least one admin.

#Everyone can reach every control

VoiceOver can open every menu and sheet, reach an answer's Copy, Listen, Save, Print, Export and Share one by one, and hear which option of a choice is selected. On the web every control works from the keyboard. First-visit tours on Chat, Scan and each part of your Context explain what each screen is for.

#How to Use It

To scan only some things: Scan → Add Items, type or tap the microphone in Only capture…, then take the photo. To bring back something it skipped, tap it in the skipped list.

To make a tag yours: Identiv — Scan → AR, point at the tag. Minew — scan its QR code, tap Set up.

To back up: Settings → Your Data → export. You can leave the app; a notification tells you when it is ready.

To make someone a group admin: open the group, tap the shield on their row.

#Known Limitations

  • Search matches your words as a phrase: "inventory into folders" does not find "sort the inventory items in the home folder into sub folders", although every word is in it.
  • Scrolling the Q&A list on the phone stops at your 200 most recent conversations. Search reaches all of them.
  • Tag set-up is offered for Identiv tags (in AR) and Minew tags (from their QR code). Other makes are recognised but not offered set-up yet.
  • An AR card can be pinned before its picture has arrived in it.
  • A share that has passed its expiry still shows in your library, and opens onto nothing.
  • Some shares show the recipient as "Someone" rather than their name.
  • Category counts refresh after every delete, so clearing out a lot at once can feel slow on a very large collection.
