#What's New in 0.13.8

Released 24 July 2026. A reliability release: better answers to real-world questions, and an end to chat that looked broken when it wasn't.

#What It Does

#Better answers to questions about the real world

The assistant now reliably reaches for web search when a question needs current information, and combines what it finds with what it knows about your context. Ask "is the walking boot I bought still under warranty, and has the manufacturer issued a recall?" and it can check both your receipt and the outside world in one turn.

Previously it would sometimes answer from memory alone when it should have searched.

#Long answers stopped looking broken

A long answer used to sometimes show a false "interrupted" message partway through, even though the answer was still coming and arrived intact seconds later. That message is gone. If your reply is still being written, the app now says so honestly.

#Behind the scenes

Reliability and performance work across the stack. Nothing you have to do.

#How to Use It

Nothing to configure. Update from the App Store and the improvements apply to every conversation.

#Tips & Tricks

  • If you want to be sure an answer used live web information, ask for sources — the assistant lists the pages it read, with clickable titles.
  • Web search costs tokens like any other tool. If you're on a Free plan and watching your allowance, phrase questions that don't need current data so the assistant doesn't reach for the web.

#Known Limitations

  • Web search quality depends on what's publicly indexed. For niche or very recent products, the assistant may find nothing and will say so rather than invent an answer.

#Version History

  • v1 — Backfilled from the App Store release record.
