#What it does

Meta's Muse can use your ambientChat context — your inventory, documents, places and skills — the same way Claude Desktop does. Ask Muse "what's expiring this week?" or "find my dishwasher warranty" and it looks the answer up in ambientChat.

Muse doesn't plug into MCP servers, so ambientChat offers the same tools as a web API Muse can call. You don't need to know anything about that: you add one address to Muse and sign in.

#How to connect Muse

  1. In Muse, add a custom connector.
  2. When it asks for the API description, give it https://mcp.ambientchat.ai/v1/openapi.json. If it asks which host to allow, it's mcp.ambientchat.ai.
  3. Choose OAuth sign-in. Muse registers itself with ambientChat automatically — you never create an app, copy a key or paste a secret.
  4. Muse opens the ambientChat sign-in page. Sign in with your ambientChat account and tap Approve.
  5. That's it. Muse now sees every ambientChat tool, and any tool ambientChat adds later appears without reconnecting.

Muse stays signed in: it renews its access on its own, for up to 30 days at a time between uses.

#What Muse knows about you

When Muse starts a conversation it can read the same guidance Claude Desktop gets when it connects:

  • Your skills — the playbooks you've saved in ambientChat, so it can follow them.
  • When to save an answer to your ambientChat history, so you can find it later.

#Controlling what Muse can see

Muse gets its own row in Context Sharing, next to any other AI app you've connected:

  • iOS: Settings → myAI Context Sharing → AI apps with access
  • Web: Settings → Context Sharing
  • In chat: "Pause Muse's access" or "Disconnect Muse"
Control What it does
Muse's switch Pause Muse without touching your other AI apps. Muse is refused from its next request, and learns nothing about your skills. Switch it back on any time.
Disconnect Signs Muse out on every device. To use it again, connect it again from Muse.
Context Sharing (master switch) Stops every connected AI app at once, Muse included.

Each time Muse reads your context, the "context accessed" notification and Muse's row show it, so you can see what it looked at.

#Limitations

  • Muse has no "/" menu for your skills. Claude Desktop shows your skills as slash commands; Muse instead reads the list of your skills and runs one when your request matches it.
  • Up to 120 requests a minute. Far more than a conversation needs; if Muse goes faster it is asked to slow down for a moment.
  • About 5 minutes per request. A big task (a large import, a report over many items) runs for up to about 5 minutes; Muse can ask for it in the background and check back for the result.
  • Changes take a moment. Something you scan on your phone can take a few seconds to appear in Muse.
  • Same credits as the app. What Muse does through ambientChat uses your plan's credits, just like in-app chat.

#For developers

Any AI agent that can call a web API can connect the same way. The API description at https://mcp.ambientchat.ai/v1/openapi.json covers sign-in (OAuth with PKCE and automatic client registration), listing and calling tools, long-running calls, retries and errors.
